Nice to meet you!
Here we are! We are based in the old tack room at Worton Park, just outside of Oxford.
We have many years experience working for the publishing industry, designing and producing educational materials.
Working together as a close team gives us the range of skills and the flexibility needed to help our clients with their projects, from one-off products to complex series.
We also like to collaborate with a great team of out of house resources too. We often work with other companies who specialise in educational publishing plus freelance typesetters, designers, illustrators, project managers and editors. This helps us deliver large projects on time and budget.
Here's some of the lovely comments our clients have said about us and our work.
Clare and I have just received an advance copy (Media Studies for A level Year 1 & AS) and I'm absolutely bowled over by it.
It looks brilliant, and reads extremely well. All the elements work so well together – especially important for this subject!
I keep picking it up and thumbing through it!
Rick Jackman, Director, Illuminate Publishing
I'm just looking through the above (x260pp) project and wanted to congratulate the kamaedesign team on creating a 1st proof of outstanding quality, particularly given the very complex Engineering content. It's an astonishing achievement, and clearly demonstrates just how far kamaedesign has come in fully grasping the complexities of the Revise series.
Phil Leafe, Senior Designer, Pearson
It has been an amazing team effort and I have really appreciated the level of co-operation, effort and expertise you have each brought to the work.
I think what you have produced is fantastic and given its difficult genesis it's a quite remarkable achievement.
On behalf of Illuminate I'd like to thank you all for moving such mountains.
Adrian Moss, Publisher, Illuminate Publishing
Kamae are proactive and on the ball – they have always delivered each project stage on time and to a high standard. Their work is reliable both in terms of accuracy and creativity, despite time pressures and demanding schedules. Great work by a team that is a pleasure to work with.
Yvette Warren, Design Project Manager, Oxford University Press
I just wanted to let you all know that advance copies of the AcEnc SBs are sitting on my desk, and they're absolutely stunning! Despite insanely tight schedules, 5 time zones and an ocean between us, and two natural disasters
hitting the East Coast of the US, you've managed to pull off some amazing work. The team here in NY is delighted with the results.
I hope we're able to work together again soon!
Heather McCarron, Production Operations Supervisor,
Cambridge University Press
Kamae are always great to work with – always professional and a friendly bunch as well!
Jennifer Hicks, Macmillan Education
Everyone in-house is pretty excited about the whole Solutions course, as it's looking really smart.
Thanks so much for all your work, all the extra miles you go are much appreciated!!
Jessica Clarke, Designer, Oxford University Press
Despite our tight deadlines and numerous changes, your team have always remained professional, friendly and adaptable and have produced books that our clients are very happy with. I have always felt well-informed about the progress of each project and the resulting designs are clear and colourful - exactly what was needed!
Suzette Pettit, Balberry Publishing
Kamae are an exceptional design studio. They are efficient and organised and entirely professional in everything they do. They respond quickly to changes in schedules and deadlines, usually all jobs coming in ahead of the required date. They go out of their way to communicate with clients and often predicting issues before they arise. The calm and friendly manner of all the team make them a real pleasure to work with.
Carolyn Tabor, Senior Designer, Pearson UK
When I work with Kamae I know my products are with a team who are working with me.
I trust them to make judgement calls and they come back to me with intelligent queries. I feel they take the burden off of my shoulders as much as is possible. They are a great bunch of people with a good sense of humour which is invaluable.
Jeanette Alfoldi, Cambridge University Press
